Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in the Spotlight: A Special Focus on Precision Diagnosis, Targeted Therapies and Risk Management

Guest Editor: Clara Ines Saldarriaga, University of Antioquia

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the most frequent inherited cardiomyopathy, with a prevalence of 1 in 500 adults, determined from echocardiographic studies. Due to recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of this condition, an update on the latest knowledge is needed. The main objectives of this special topic are to review the role of genetics, new advances in multimodality imaging, pharmacological treatments, the role of interventions (surgical septal ablation) and sudden death prevention for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
